BH 90 (4/2024): This is also aromatically restrained but notably prettier and more elegant as the nose combines notes of dark currant, violet, anise and an interesting hint of exotic tea. The more refined and beautifully detailed flavors possess evident minerality on the lingering bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. As are most competent examples, this is a Serpentières of finesse. Drink 2028+. |

BH 88 (10/2023): There is a background hint of petrol to the cool and pretty aromas of essence of apple, citrus zest and a whiff of crushed fennel. There is outstanding volume and richness to the decidedly punchy middleweight flavors that possess a beguiling texture on the balanced finale. This is a Bourgogne that could be enjoyed young or aged for up to five or so years to good effect. Drink 2026+. |

BH 87 (6/2024): Bright aromas of just sliced citrus, white peach and pretty floral nuances are complemented by delicious middleweight flavors that are supported by lemon-tinged acidity on the vibrant, lingering and refreshing finale. Moreover, this is not your usual 'pop and pour' Bourgogne as it has the legs to repay 4 to 7 years of keeping. Worth checking out. Drink 2027+. Outstanding Top Value! |

BH 88 (6/2024): ( the bulk of this is from Les Pellans.) A deft application of wood sets off equally bright and fresh aromas of Granny Smith apple and even more prominent citrus elements that are trimmed in pretty floral nuances. There is a bit more volume to the succulent, sappy and vibrant medium weight flavors that possess slightly more depth and persistence. This cuvée consistently boxes above its weight and blind, this could easily pass for a Meursault-villages wine plus, like the Forgets, it will generously reward cellaring. Buy it. Drink 2028+. VM 93 (9/2018): (Javillier picked these old vines on the Aloxe-Corton side at the end, on September 29, with a normal crop level; aged in a single one-year-old barrel): Bright straw-yellow. Aromas of ripe yellow fruits, baking spices and vanilla, plus some sweet rocky scents. Concentrated, dense wine with a tight core of stone fruits and liquid stone; no sign of frost stress here! Quite suave, dry and very long on the aftertaste, enlivened by an element of limey citricity and late-arriving minerality. Serious Corton-Charlemagne, but with no rough edges. In fact, this strikes me as more refined than most recent vintages of this cuvee. Stephen Tanzer. BH 92 (6/2018): (from Pougets in Aloxe.) Javillier indicated that this had been bottled only one week before my visit and not surprisingly there was some unabsorbed sulfur on the mildly exotic mix of white peach, lychee and white flower scents. There is exceptionally good richness to the lavishly textured and generous broad-shouldered flavors that are quite powerful while delivering fine length on the saturating if slightly warm finish. This is a rather open knit example of the vineyard that is delicious though I wouldn't describe it as classic. Drink 2023+. |

BH 93 (6/2020): A pretty if noticeably reserved nose features a layered assortment of mineral reduction, acacia blossom, lemon rind and freshly sliced Granny Smith apples. The succulent and tautly muscular larger-scaled flavors exhibit plenty of minerality while culminating in a powerful and beautifully persistent finale. This is really quite stylish and could aptly be described as a Corton-Charlemagne of refinement. Drink 2028+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! |

BH 90 (6/2024): Aromas of hazelnut, orange peel and acacia blossom introduce rich, concentrated and caressing medium-bodied flavors that possess a highly seductive texture while displaying excellent length on the balanced, firm and utterly delicious finale. This could use better depth though so at least a few years of keeping are recommended. Worth considering. Drink 2029+. Outstanding Top Value! |

BH 91 (6/2022): (the name is a play on words as this is a .60 ha blend of two vineyards, Les Clous and Crotots.) There is a vague whiff of the exotic to the ripe, fresh and pretty aromas of roasted nut, mineral reduction, white peach and tangerine peel. There is superb intensity and cut to the dense and tautly muscular medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere and impressively persistent and distinctly lemony finish. This is terrific for its level and recommended. Drink 2026+. Outstanding Top Value! VM 91 (12/2021): The 2020 Meursault Les Clousots has a touch more definition and intensity on the nose compared to the Tillets, very elegant with hints of yellow flower and nectarine. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, good weight and concentration with tropical notes of pineapple and white peach towards the smooth finish. Quite seductive. Neal Martin. |

BH 93 (6/2024): (the name is a play on words as this is a .60 ha blend of two vineyards, Les Clous and Crotots.) A restrained, airy and distinctly cool nose somewhat grudgingly offers up its array of just sliced apple, pear, lemon rind and acacia. There is terrific mid-palate density to the equally mineral-driven medium weight flavors that possess solid power on the sappy, refreshingly dry and sappy finale. This stunningly good Meursault-villages is very much built to repay extended keeping and is definitely a wine to strongly consider. Drink 2032+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! |

This is a classic, and entirely superb, Tillets of delicacy and restraint. Drink 2030+. Outstanding Top Value! |

BH 92 (6/2022): ( from a .62 ha combination of Au Murger de Monthélie and Les Casse-Têtes.) A more floral-suffused nose features very bright and fresh aromas of Granny Smith apples, essence of pear and a variety of citrus influences. There is again excellent volume and richness along with even more apparent minerality on the complex and beautifully persistent finale that flashes focused power. This too offers first-rate quality for a villages-level wine. Drink 2027+. Outstanding Top Value! VM 91+ (12/2021): The 2020 Meursault Cuvée Tête de Murger has a well-defined nose, although I was expecting a little more presence and energy compared to previous vintages that I have tasted over the years. The palate is well balanced and shows more gumption, fine acidity with a touch of ginger, well-defined with red apple, nectarine and orange pith on the finish. Just give it some time for the aromatics to open. Neal Martin. |
