BH 90-93 (6/2016): This too possesses ample Chablis character with its array of green fruit, tidal pool, citrus and wet stone notes. There is more size, weight and power to the big-bodied flavors that deliver excellent depth and length on the saline-inflected finale. This delicious effort is muscular but stops short of actually being rustic. Drink 2021+. WA 89-91 (12/2015): The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros has a crisp, flinty nose that is nicely defined and gains intensity in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity, not the most minerally Bougros that you will find, but there is good depth and persistence on the finish. |

BH 90-93 (6/2018): As one would expect, this possesses a completely different aromatic profile with its aromas of iodine, sea breeze, mildly exotic yellow orchard fruit and a hint of wood. Once again the flavors are rich to the point of being lush with a succulent mouth feel thanks to the abundant level of dry extract, all wrapped in a mildly sweet if certainly persistent finale. I definitely wouldn't describe this as classic but it's certainly well-made and delicious. Drink 2023+. |

BH 91-93 (6/2016): Once again there is plenty of evident Chablis character to the more elegant nose of pear, green apple, white flowers, iodine and sea breeze aromas. There is Outstanding intensity to the powerful, appealingly textured and dense medium weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract, all wrapped in a mineral-driven and wonderfully persistent finale. This is good stuff and very Valmur. Drink 2021+. Sweet Spot Outstanding! WA 89-91 (12/2015): The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur has something airy about the nose, touches of melon and citrus peel, a subtle mineralité showing through with time. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, quite precise on the mid-palate but needing a touch more mineral nerve on the finish. This is a respectable Valmur, if not the best that Chablis produced in 2014. |

BH 89-91 (6/2013): (Pethel indicated that the blend here included 10 to 15% of pinot blanc.) The pinot blanc influence is visible with its white-fleshed fruit scents and slightly sauvage character. The naturally sweet, round and juicy middle weight flavors possess both good volume and fine mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a dry, clean and lightly mineral-suffused finish that offers reasonably good depth and persistence. Drink 2016+. |
