VM 93 (8/2015): The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard is super-impressive. Pliant and generous on the palate, the 2011 offers notable depth, no hard edges and fabulous purity of fruit, all extremely rare at this level in 2011, a cold, late-ripening vintage. Then again, Dr. Crane, a valley site in St. Helena, is one of Napa Valley's top vineyards. Sweet red plum, rose petal, spice and mint wrap around the open-knit finish. Antonio Galloni. |

WA 98 (12/2015): The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard tastes like a California version of a La Mission Haut-Brion. Blueberry and blackberry fruit, wet gravel, crushed-rock notes and white flowers are followed by a full-bodied, elegant wine - with not the level of concentration of the Georges III, but with seemingly more ethereal and sublime subtleties and nuances. This is a stunner with sweet tannin that is beautifully, rich full and long. It should drink well for 20-25 years. VM 92 (10/2015): The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane is one of the most seamless, polished wines in the Myriad lineup. Sweet floral and spice notes meld into a core of dark red fruit. Supple and open-knit, the 2013 offers plenty of near and medium-term appeal along with silkiness that is perhaps the single most specific signature of Dr. Crane Cabernets. JS 92 (1/2016): A soft, full-throttle style with lots of dried fruits, blackberries and viscous texture. Chewy tannins. Old school Napa red but shows some form. Drink now. WS 91 (11/2016): A robust yet charming effort, with dark berry, mocha, licorice, cedary oak, dried herb and graphite flavors. Turns supple and caressing midpalate before the tannins weigh in. Drink now through 2032. 200 cases made. |

WA 95 (12/2016): One of my favorite first-growth sites of Napa Valley is the Dr. Crane Vineyard on the back streets of St. Helena, and Myriad produces two cuvées: a 225-case Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and the Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian, which is a barrel selection based on the best barrels Mike Smith can find from Darnajou and Taransaud cooperage. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard, 15.1% alcohol, is from clone 337 and is a wine of great power and richness with complex blueberry and blackberry, charcoal and graphite notes, stunning minerality, beautiful purity, velvety tannins and a killer finish of close to 50+ seconds. This wine is drinkable because it is a 2014, but it should age nicely for two decades or more. |

JD 99 (12/2021): There are two releases from this remarkable site just outside St. Helena. Looking first at the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, this stunning wine gives up a monster bouquet of currants and cassis-like fruits as well as leafy herbs, tobacco, chocolate, and spice. Beautifully full-bodied on the palate, it has ripe, polished tannins, impeccable balance, no hard edges, and that rare mix of power and elegance. WA 98 (11/2021): The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it erupts from the glass with a firework display of iron ore, lilacs, star anise and sandalwood scents, over a core of blackcurrant jelly, wild blueberries and chocolate-covered cherries, plus a touch of tree bark. Full-bodied, firm and beautifully, seamlessly knit, it delivers layer upon layer of earth and black fruits, finishing very long and fragrant. VM 94 (1/2022): The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard is a racy, sumptuous wine loaded with all of the charm that makes wines from this St. Helena vineyard so appealing. Crushed rocks, mint, red-toned fruit and blood orange infuse the 2019 with striking depth and tons of allure. Silky, perfumed and inviting, the Dr. Crane is another knock out in this range from Myriad. Antonio Galloni. |

JD 97+ (1/2020): Certainly, one of the wines of the vintage, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian comes from a first growth site outside of St. Helena and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in new barrels. It has that classic earthy, gravelly minerality that’s the hallmark of this terroir as well a full-bodied, concentrated, yet backward vibe on the palate. The tannins are sensational, it has incredible purity of fruit, and it’s packed with potential. A solid 4-5 years of bottle age are warranted, but count yourself lucky if you have bottles in the cellar. (Drink between 2025-2045). VM 94 (1/2020): The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian is dark, plush and sumptuous to the core. Chocolate, leather, plum, black cherry and spice bring out a darker side of Dr. Crane. The 2017 is decidedly sumptuous and flamboyant, with all the elements in the right place. (Drink between 2022-2032). Antonio Galloni. WA 94 (10/2019): The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian is deep garnet-purple colored with notes of plum preserves, baked cherries, crème de cassis and mocha plus hints of leather, Chinese five spice, bouquet garni and cast iron pan. The palate is full-bodied, firm and chewy with a good core of fruit and spicy finish. (Drink between 2021-2040). |

JD 100 (8/2020): The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian is another heavenly wine from this estate that shows a more elegant, seamless style with its incredible perfume of crème de cassis, graphite, white flowers, flowery incense, and unsmoked tobacco. Deep, full-bodied, and concentrated, it offers building tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. About as seamless as they come, with ultra-fine tannins and flawless balance, this heavenly, seamless, magical wine will benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 40 years or more. |

WA 100 (11/2021): Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) hits the ground running with the most powerful, profound nose of violets, dark chocolate, crushed rocks, Morello cherries and rose oil, over a core of crushed blackcurrants and fresh, juicy blackberries, plus wafts of plum pudding and cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with tightly wound layers of black fruits and minerals, framed by exquisitely ripe tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with epic length and depth. Prepare to have your mind blown! (Drink between 2025-2050). JD 100 (12/2021): Even better, and a perfect wine in this reviewer’s opinion, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Elysian is a tiny cellar selection that brings even more richness and depth while not giving an inch with regard to finesse and elegance. Gorgeous ripe black fruits, tobacco leaf, crushed violets, and chocolate are just some of the nuances in this puppy, and it's full-bodied, with an expansive, multi-dimensional texture, perfect tannins, and one incredible finish. It's a more textured, fleshy wine than the base Dr. Crane and already offers pleasure, yet it will undoubtedly evolve for over two decades. This is pure Napa Valley brilliance. (Drink between 2021-2042). |

VM 90 (6/2013): Bright medium red. Aromatically expressive nose offers currant, tobacco leaf, pepper, herbs and a musky smoky nuance. Sweet, lush and very ripe--in fact, a tad roasted in the middle palate. Finishes with serious, slightly rough, chocolatey tannins that dust the teeth. Stephen Tanzer. WA 92 (10/2013): The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard, which comes from the backwoods of Conn Valley, is a big, juicy, rich Cabernet with loads of fruit, plenty of blueberry, raspberry and floral notes, medium to full-bodied power and no hard edges. It can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15+ years. |

Three Twins Vyd. Cabernet Sauvignon |

|
WA 95 (10/2014): The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard has a dense ruby/purple color, beautiful nose of crème de cassis and spring flowers in a rather classic, full-bodied, very ripe, pure and layered style. This is top-flight Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with wonderful texture and knockout aromatics; soft enough (as most 2012s are) to be drunk now or cellared for 15 or more years. VM 91 (12/2014): The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins emerges from Rick Talmage's Conn Valley site, where Talmage makes his Stone the Crows Cabernet. Myriad's wine from this site is a bit more savory, with pretty notes of iron, smoke, tobacco and leather that add complexity to the succulent fruit. Racy and expressive through to the finish, the Three Twins is a classic 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon built to deliver pretty much immediate gratification. Antonio Galloni. WS 90 (9/2015): Exhibits a rich, potent, elegant core of mocha-laced blackberry, wild berry, mineral, anise and cedary oak, finishing with a crushed rock minerality and a dash of dried mocha. Drink now through 2027. 250 cases made. |

WA 94 (12/2015): The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard emerges from a site that winemaker Mike Smith has found in Conn Valley. The wine shows a more earthy side to his brilliant winemaking skills, showing blueberry and blackberry fruit, but there is more of an underlying minerality and loamy soil, earthiness. It is full-bodied, rich, pure, and multilayered aa well as textured. It should drink well for at least 20-25 years. |
