Featuring many options with over 10 years of bottle age and spanning nearly every desirable appellation in both Oregon and California. Here we have a list that offers both collectable names such as Peter Michael, Aubert (in Magnum), Williams Selyem and Archery Summit with popular labels Antiquum, Bergstrom, Ken Wright and Rhys. There is certainly something for everyone with over two-thirds of the listed wines under $100.
Monday, February 22, 2021   Saint Julien
Today we would like to highlight some spectacular bottles of Saint Julien that we have in stock, as well as a dizzying number of full cases available on pre-arrival. Saint Julien is the smallest of the major Bordeaux appellations in the Medoc, and nearly 95% of the vineyards in this beautiful commune are classified growths. There are Saint Julien estates that are able to majestically pair concentration with elegance and purity like the wines found at Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou. Some chateaux remain traditional in their winemaking, while others lean to a more modern approach, like St. Pierre. There are early drinking wines like Gloria and wines that demand decades in the cellar for example, Leoville Las Cases. Highlights include the 2010 Lagrange, 2009 Leoville Poyferre, the 6L of 2015 Ducru-Beaucaillou and the 2016 Leoville Barton. Take some time to peruse and add some of these superb wines to your collection. Happy Hunting!
Saturday, February 20, 2021   Liquid Farm Chardonnay
Liquid Farm is a labor of love, the result of a passion for old-world wines and a from the partnership of Jeff Nelson and James Sparks. Their idea was to find cool-climate sites around the Santa Rita Hills and make wines that they would like to drink themselves, without pandering to trends or the whims of critics. What they have achieved is nothing short of resoundingly successful, and their wines can now be found in high-end restaurants throughout the country as they are equally at home accompanying food or simply by themselves if desired. Today we are offering case discounts on the 2015 vintage of their Golden Slope Chardonnay. This bottling comes from the Kessler-Haak Vineyard, which is the first vineyard that they began to use back in 2009. Grapes grown here produce one of the richer expressions from their portfolio, and beautifully combine freshness and steel with tropical fruit notes, a hint of vanilla and a strong nose of white flowers. The mineral core adds complexity to the mid-palate, while the energy on the finish is lip-smacking and provides a wonderful, harmonious feel to the experience. Do not miss out on this gem – if you are a fan of sunny CA fruit and old-world structure, you will sure love this bottling!
Thursday, February 18, 2021   Spain!
Today we would like to highlight our superb inventory of Spanish wine with you. No country marries the traditional and modern quite like Spain does - grape growing and wine making pre-date the Romans, but it was not until the 1990's that modern techniques and a (re)investment in many regions throughout the country took hold. Vega Sicilia perfectly embodies this duality; long considered one of the world's greatest producers since the turn of the last century, their legendary Único is the essential classic Spanish wine while their more recent expansion throughout Spain including Alión in Ribera del Duero are beautiful examples of what modern Spanish winemaking can achieve. Our inventory is ripe with classics like Único, Lopez de Heredia and La Rioja Alta, and also includes modern greats like Numanthia and Pinea. Browse this great list and add some Spanish gems to your cellar today!
Wednesday, February 17, 2021   2016 Marcoux Chateauneuf
Flickinger Wines is pleased to offer the magnificent 2016 Châteauneuf -du-Pape from leading producer, Domaine de Marcoux. This tiny (by Châteauneuf standards) 17 ha estate, is run by sisters Sophie and Catherine Armenier and was the first to practice biodynamic farming in the appellation, starting over twenty years ago. Their vineyard holdings are spread across 13 different parcels throughout Châteauneuf and encompass all the different terroir the region has to offer; this cross-section of terroir, combined with their old vines and natural, hands-off approach to making wine yields one of the purest expressions of Châteauneuf-du-Pape you can find. In the cellar, winemaking is as straightforward as possible - fermentation is completely natural, extraction is minimal, and ageing is done in concrete vats and older oak barrels. The results are pure, transparent wines that are as elegant as any in Châteauneuf. On offer today is the superb 2016 vintage, one that marries freshness with the hallmark lush fruit of the appellation and the estate's typical velvety texture. Production here is minuscule by CdP standards, so take advantage of this offer and pick up some of this phenomenal wine today!

Thursday, February 11, 2021   Pomerol
Today we would like to highlight some spectacular bottles of Pomerol that we have in stock, as well as a dizzying number of full cases available on pre-arrival. Pomerol is the smallest of the fine-wine producing regions of Bordeaux, and these stunning Merlot driven wines can be rare to find being that production levels at the Chateaus are dwarfed by their left-bank counterparts. Highlights include the 2016 L’Evangile, 2005 L’Eglise Clinet, 2015 Vieux Chateau Certain and the 2009 Conseillante. Take amount to peruse and add some of these superb wines to your collection. Tuesday, February 9, 2021   2018 Boillot Mouchere
Today we'd like to offer you the rest of our stock of the 2018 vintage of Henri Boillot's signature wine, Clos de la Mouchere. Year after year this is his biggest-selling wine, and for good reason as it often offers Grand Cru quality at a much lower cost. The vineyard is a monopole within the Perrieres vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet, and is known for producing wines that are rich and very intense, but with a serious mineral backbone and a firm freshness that comes from Henri's tendency to pick his whites very early. The combination of fruit concentration and energy really is remarkable on the palate and provides a wonderful follow-on from the white flowers and strong citrus notes on the nose, while the finish demonstrates considerable length and a saline edge that makes this wine complete. Do not miss out on this beauty while it remains available - it is in stock now and ready to go!
Monday, February 8, 2021   Peter Michael Chardonnay
Following on form our successful offer for Peter Michael's reds the other day, today we are featuring a fine selection of his whites in both bottles and magnums (there are also a few bottles of Sauvignon Blanc available). Peter Michael founded his eponymous winery in 1982 in Knights Valley with the singular vision to make terroir specific wines in the mold of Bordeaux and Burgundy. Since then, the Peter Michael Winery has become a California icon and is among the most well-regarded producers in California. What began with the Bordeaux blend Les Pavots and Clos de Ciel Chardonnay, has since grown to production of 15 wines, 14 of which are from single vineyard sources. The offer below features verticals of Belle Cote, La Carrieres, Ma Belle-Fille and Mon Plaisir Chardonnays, plus two vintages of the very appropriately-named L'Apres Midi Sauvignon Blanc. Happy Hunting!
Thursday, February 4, 2021   2015 Sottimano Curra
Antonio Galloni: "My visit to Sottimano was a real highlight of the time I spent in Barbaresco this past summer. I have been buying these wines for my own cellar since the mid 1990s. The transformation here since then has been nothing short of remarkable." Sottimano has long been a favorite of ours here at Flickinger Wine, and today I am delighted to offer you special pricing on their most sought-after bottling the Barbaresco cru, Curra. Sottimano's wines should be on the 'annual buy list' of any Piedmont fan. The winemaking here continues to go from strength to strength, and the quality to price ratio of these wines is impossible to beat. The Sottimano family has been making wines in Barbaresco since the 1960's when patriarch Rino Sottimano purchased his first vineyards in Neive. The estate is now run by Rino's son and daughter, Andrea and Elena, and they now own 18 hectares of vineyards in some of the most prestigious vineyards in Barbaresco. The winemaking process at Sottimano is traditional and hands off - they do not employ the use of any insecticides and organic fertilizers are only used when necessary. Macerations are traditionally long and fermentation is done using indigenous yeasts, which is followed by a long, cool 2 year maturation in French oak barrique (very little new). Andrea has developed the barrel protocol at Sottimano and believes that while barrels are important for the maturation of wine, the flavors of the wood should not be expressed in the wine, instead letting the fruit and minerality take center stage. The wines are then bottled without filtering or fining, with minimal use of sulfur. Curra is treated a little differently from the other crus as it is always released a year later than the others - the family believes that this richly tannic wine benefits from this extra year in bottle to better allow the incredible fruit character to come to the fore and for the structure to soften a little. Ultimately this is a finessed and thri
Tuesday, February 2, 2021   Walter Hansel Pinot Noir
The wines of Walter Hansel have been a firm favorite among drinkers for many years now; they always display sunny California fruit, but with a focus and freshness which gives them superb balance and the ability to be drunk either by themselves or with food. They are (justly) well known for providing fantastic quality for a more than reasonable price, and the Cahill Lane Pinot Noir on offer today is no exception. It is made of a blend of three clones, all planted in 1989 and so are at their peak in terms of quality, and each one giving a certain character to the wine. The final result is a wine with beautiful, bright fruit and with a certain old world character that has exceptional overall balance and is simply a joy to drink. Once again, a high-quality wine of immense gravitas has been produced by the team here, and at a very affordable price - do not miss this gem!

Thursday, January 28, 2021   New Schrader Cellar
Flickinger Wines has a remarkable selection in-stock of superstar Napa producer Schrader Cellars, most of which comes from a brand new cellar. Since the first vintage in the early 2000's, these wines quickly became a source for some of the Napa Valley's greatest wines. Focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon, Schrader makes numerous cuvées from the great Beckstoffer Vineyards - To-Kalon, George III, Dr. Crane and Las Piedras. Productions levels are quite small, with total production usually less than 1,800 cases. The wines are always big, forward and lush, and generally will drink well early (and age well for many years in top vintages). Flickinger Wines has deep verticals from across the Schrader range, dating back to the ready to drink 2006s up through the current (huge scoring) 2017s. Take advantage of this offer and add these Napa greats to your cellar today - cheers!
Wednesday, January 27, 2021   Bruno Giacosa 1985-2001
Bruno Giacosa fans will want to sit up and take notice of this new collection featuring some of the finest bottlings ever to be made by Bruno Giacosa and including 6 vintages of red label Riservas – with even a very rare bottle of 1989 Collina Rionda available (only 2,800 were made). This is the best of the best of the best that Piedmont has to offer, and I would urge you to take advantage while they remain available!
Tuesday, January 26, 2021   Two Top Tenutas
On offer today we would like to highlight two superb houses of the Bolgheri in Tuscany, Ornellaia and San Guido. Ornellaia has branched into making many wines on their properties from the highly sought-after Petrus-inspired 100% Merlot Masseto to the softer Merlot-driven blend Le Volte. Cabernet Sauvignon is king for the flagship Ornellaia and second label Le Serre Nuove expertly blended with Merlot, Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Tenuta San Guido’s Sassicaia is also dominated with Cabernet Sauvignon with only Cabernet Franc rounding out this forever darling of the reviewers. The San Guido second wine, Guidalberto, introduces a stiff measure of Merlot to soften the wine for much earlier drinking. We are fortunate to have a few options in stock, but many original cases available on pre-order. Happy hunting!
