Wednesday, September 23, 2020   Right Bank Gems
Today we are highlighting Flickinger Wines outstanding selection of right-bank Bordeaux wines, headlined by an impressive selection of St. Emilion and some choice Pomerol. St-Emilion contains a wide variety of different terroirs, and thus a wide range of wine styles are produced, ranging from bold and hedonistic to fresher, more mineral examples. Pomerol is the smallest appellation in Bordeaux, and in the not too distant past was consider unreliable and inconsistent. However, since the 90's that all changed and now some of the most collectible wines on the planet come from this hallowed ground. The best Pomerol wines are known for their sensuality and silky textures, plus their soft tannins and rich fruit. The right bank wines are dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with Merlot giving the rich fruit and plush textures, and the Cab Franc adding aromatics and structure. Both of these stellar appellations are food friendly and the best examples of course age supremely well. Don't miss the verticals of Angelus and Cheval Blanc, or the 99pt 2015 Bellevue Mondotte - these are just a few of the many highlights in our great selection, so take the time to browse our inventory of right bank treasures and add some to your collection today!
Tuesday, September 22, 2020   90+ points Domestic Pinot Noir

Featuring many options with over 10 years of bottle age and spanning nearly every desirable appellation in both Oregon and California. Here we have a list that offers both collectable names such as Peter Michael, Williams Selyem and Archery Summit with popular labels Arterberry Maresh, Bergstrom and Rhys. There is certainly something for everyone with over two-thirds of the listed wines under $100.
Monday, September 21, 2020   Grand Cru Red Burgundy
Burgundy can certainly be a daunting undertaking to collect. The nature of pinot noir does not allow for a consistent growing season or consistent aging once in bottle. Thankfully, centuries of careful selection of the best sites have offered a bit of insurance towards this gamble. Grand Cru Burgundy always represents the pinnacle of the producer’s approach to the vintage—such care, allocation of resources and attention every step of the way is represented. Today we offer a wide collection of Grand Cru Red Burgundy. We are fortunate to offer wines from five different decades and with multiple bottlings under $250.
Friday, September 18, 2020   Liquor Collection
Flickinger Wines has an outstanding selection of spirits including a fantastic group of new arrivals that is heavy on fabulous Single Malt Scotch and hard to find Bourbon. Wednesday, September 16, 2020   Spain!
So today we want to highlight our superb inventory of Spanish wine with you. No country marries the traditional and modern quite like Spain does - grape growing and wine making pre-date the Romans, but it wasn't until the 1990's that modern techniques and a (re)investment in many regions throughout the country took hold. Vega Siclia perfectly embodies this duality; long considered one of the world's greatest producers since the turn of the last century, their legendary Único is the essential classic Spanish wine while their more recent expansion throughout Spain including Alión in Ribera del Duero are beautiful examples of what modern Spanish winemaking can achieve. Our inventory is ripe with classics like Único and La Rioja Alta, and also includes modern greats like Numanthia and Clos Erasmus. Browse this great list and add some Spanish gems to your cellar today!
Tuesday, September 15, 2020   Domestic Syrah: SQN, Cayuse+
Need an alternative to Cabernet Sauvignon? How about trying some California and Washington Syrah? The best examples are just as rich, complex and ageworthy as Cab, and most producers 'entry level' bottlings provide much easier drinking to boot. Flickinger has an impressively deep selection from the best US producers - Sine Qua Non (and Next of Kyn), Alban Vineyards, Cayuse, Horsepower and Saxum are all well represented. You also don't have to spend a lot to get great value - the wines from Bedrock, Pax and Betz and Rhys offer an incredible qpr and should not be missed. This is a superb list of wines of a superb grape - happy hunting!

Wednesday, September 9, 2020   Christophe Baron
Today we would like to feature the wines of Christophe Baron. We are fortunate to have deep options from all three of his critically acclaimed Washington wineries. It was the acres of stones that impressed him in Walla Walla, he had planned to purchase land in Willamette and try his hand at Pinot Noir. He could not get those stones out of his mind, and on a fateful trip in 1997 he set out to model the southern Rhone valley and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Creating Cayuse with a deep focus on site specific Rhone-varietals. His next venture started as a side-project with his Cayuse general manager, Trevor Dorlan, No Girls is a lesson in wines from the La Paciencia vineyard. Horsepower is yet another Walla Walla winery that continues a focus on Rhone varietals, but here a nod to history with only featuring vineyards that are tilled by horse-drawn plows.
Tuesday, September 8, 2020   Barolo
Today we would like to feature our current inventory of Barolo’s. Much is made about producers’ wine-making and aging styles being more modern or classic, but it is the soil composition that strongly influences the style of wine that results. Some producers opting for a style that is more austere and powerful, and others coaxing a deep heady perfume and velvety texture. Whatever camp the producer leans towards there will still be a foundation of smooth and elegant tannins that provide the wine with both a long life in your cellar, as well as a long length on your palate.

Friday, September 4, 2020   New Turley Listings
Few wines are as emblematic of modern California wine as Turley Wine Cellars. The Turley wines embody the full, richly fruited profile that California can so effortlessly produce, and they work primarily in the varietals that shine in California like nowhere else - Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Started in 1993 by proprietor Larry Turley, Turley Wine Cellars wanted to focus on the abundant old vines of the aforementioned varietals, and combine them with terroir specificity. Turley Wine Cellars now makes 40+ wines from over 50 different vineyards from across California(!), primarily from Napa, Sonoma, Lodi and Paso Robles; all the vineyards are either certified organic or in the process of being certified and only native yeasts are used for fermentation. Flickinger has a fantastic assortment of Turley on offer today, spanning their best know vineyards covering a range of vintages for both cellaring and drinking. The wines are always loaded with character and enjoy a wide drinking window - what is often overlooked about these iconic wines is their ability to age. Both varietals are capable of graceful evolution and with 10-20 years of age they can take on a refinement and subtlety that is flat out gorgeous. It should also be said the Turley wines represent great value - this value is perfectly embodied in the 93-95pt 2018 Pesenti Zin - the bang for buck proposition on this bottle can't be beat (and either can our price) - so don't delay and pick up some of these California beauties today!
Thursday, September 3, 2020   Pauillac
Today we are highlighting our fine selection of wines from the Bordeaux left-bank appellation of Pauillac. For many connoisseurs the cassis, graphite and tobacco notes found in the wines from here offer the quintessential Bordeaux experience, and it is from here that three of the five First Growths are found, along with several of the Super Seconds. Our selection on offer features many of the top names from across the appellation, including Mouton, Lafite, Pichon Lalande and Lynch Bages - and a rare 6L bottle of Chateau Latour - and I would urge you to take advantage of this offer while the wines remain available.
Wednesday, September 2, 2020   Brewer Clifton Chardonnay
“Over 20 years ago two young aspiring winemakers met, each bringing a vision and a drive to produce world-class wine. Focusing on the Burgundian roots of pinot noir and chardonnay, they paid homage to France. They were keen on making their own footprint and forging a style that was uniquely Californian. The wines embrace the power, pedigree and richness of the Sta. Rita Hills, that has become the trademark of Brewer–Clifton.” We are delighted today to feature the Brewer-Clifton Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay from 2017. Only neutral barrels are employed, that allows for high quality of estate fruit to show beautifully in this bottling. See below for some rather attractive quantity-based discounts.
Tuesday, September 1, 2020   Over 95pts Under $100
Today we wish to feature our inventory of wines that are listed for under $100, but that have also garnered a score of 95 or higher. Truly a wide array of appellations and styles. I trust that each of you will recognize some old favorites and see fit to try something new as well.

Friday, August 28, 2020   Made in the USA
It is said that there is a perfect place for each grape. Where that a grape finds its deepest and truest expression. The hills of Piedmont for Nebbiolo, the ancient sea floor soil of Chablis for Chardonnay and today we would like to feature the grape that finds its best expression in the sun-drenched vineyards of California—Zinfandel. Powerful alcohol that is balanced by juicy acidity rather than mouth drying tannins allows for distinct foundation for a wide array of fruits and spices to be showcased. There is always mix of brambly fruit, dried cherry and even stone-fruit preserve that is tied down with fresh herbs and baking spices. Each bottling offering multiple facets to pair with whatever you may be serving off your grill at home. Today we feature a wide array of well-known producers like Turley or Williams Selyem to popular restaurant labels like Radio-Cateau and Kunin—all under $100 per bottle.
