| WA 97-99 (10/2018): A barrel sample aging in 80% new barrels, the 2017 Chardonnay UV-SL is a little broody right now, slowly revealing notes of warm apricots, apple pie and pear tart with suggestions of crème caramel, honey toast, sassafras and lime blossoms with a hint of candied popcorn. The palate is full-bodied with a wicked backbone of freshness lifting the densely packed stone fruit and savory layers, finishing very long and yeasty. |

| VM 94 (1/2022): The 2019 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard is a classic wine from this site. Rich, creamy and layered, the Heintz has that oily texture that is such a signature here. Apricot, tangerine oil, mint, spice and brown butter lend notable complexity. Exotic tropical overtones compensate brighter saline nuances that lend tension to balance some of the more overt qualities that come so naturally. Antonio Galloni. |

What comes through is a whole range of saline, chalk, white pepper and grapefruit nuances. There is a real feeling of phenolic intensity to play off the wine’s linear feel.
